The ends do not justify the means,
rather the means validate or nullify the end.
There are only two ends; that which is just and that which is unjust. Therefore if the means are unjust towards a just end, the end cannot be just because the vehicle of injustice cannot arrive at the station of justice. Conversely, the unjust end cannot be reached by a truly just means because that which is unjust runs in opposition to the that which is just. That is to say that if one starts with the aim of doing something that is not just, you cannot employ something that is truly just (that which is mandated by moral/divine law) because that which is truly just will always arrive at at true justice.
